The Robot Stage

You may be familiar with the 5 stages of grief by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, Denial, bargaining, anger, depression, acceptance. There is also shock, testing, and disorganization. You may experience some of these, none of these, or all of these at different times. You may experience numbness or longing.

I did not even think that what I was going through was grief. I was robotic going through the motions of being a mother to my surviving children. I did not have a support group. Years passed, and slowly the guilt crept in. After years of trying to rediscover myself, I came across Dr. Caroline Leaf’s book Cleaning up Your Mental Mess , and later Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural. With these books I have devised a program that I wish I had to get me through the tough times.
